Otoe County prosecutors swore out arrest warrants Monday regarding what police earlier described as a gruesome beating.

Christopher Jordan, 21, of Nebraska City is charged with first degree assault on 28-year-old Michael Anderson of Shenandoah on Dec. 22.

Police say Jordan brought Anderson to his home in Nebraska City after Anderson had an argument with his girlfriend in Iowa.

Otoe County Attorney David Partsch said Jordan later kicked Anderson out of the house, but Anderson forced his way back in.

Anderson was hospitalized for injuries suffered in the confrontation with Jordan.
Partsch said, “even if he was committing a crime himself, trespassing, he was pummeled, absolutely pummeled by this guy.”

Investigators say the Shenandoah man appeared to have a broken and severely displaced jaw.
Police Capt. Lonnie Neeman said, “I’ve seen a lot of injuries in my 20 years, but I don’t know If I’ve ever seen anyone with that much facial damage from a beating.”

“I think you have a right to protect your home and your family but under the circumstances of this case the actions are not justifiable and both parties have some criminal culpability,” Partsch said.
Anderson is charged with terroristic threats.
