Thomas J. Clinch, 22, of Grand Island escaped injury Friday after the 2008 Toyota Rav4 he was driving hit an icy patch on the Missouri River bridge.

Clinch was in the lefthand lane approaching the bridge when he hit ice and slush, losing control. The left rear of his vehicle hit a guard concrete barrier, slid across the roadway and into the path of a 2004 Peterbilt tractor and semi-trailer driven by Paul Lee Damrau, 41, of Salem Ore.
Both vehicles were eastbound on the highway.

The truck also collided with a 2004 Saturn Ion driven by Samantha A. Osenbaugh, 21, of Grand Island.

There were no injuries, but investigators report that the Rav4 was totaled.
Damage to the guard rail is estimated at $2,500.
