Nebraska City firefighters rushed to the 900 block of north Seventh Street at 5:59 p.m. on June 9 where a Pontiac owned by Josh Larson of Nebraska City was on fire.
There was smoke pouring out from beneath the hood and burning material under the engine compartment when firefighters arrived.
The jaws of life were used to open the hood and inspect damage.
Fire Chief Alan Viox said the cause of the fire is undetermined.
Three units and 17 firefighters responded, as well as Nebraska City Rescue and police.
