Accident claims worker's life

The Nebraska City Police Department and Nebraska City EMS Division responded to a rescue call at Excel Specialty Products, Cargill, 2601 Industrial Road, Nebraska City, at 3:59 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, involving a workplace injury.
The injured worker, identified as Timothy L. Wilson, 49, of Nebraska City, was transported to St. Mary’s Community Hospital in Nebraska City where he was pronounced dead at 5:31 a.m.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the employee suffered internal injuries as a result of a fall when the hydraulic lift he was on toppled over.
The Nebraska City Police Department is investigating the death and an autopsy has been scheduled.
