Four traffic fatalities over holiday weekend

The Nebraska State Patrol reports four people were killed in vehicle crashes on Nebraska roadways over the long Independence Day holiday weekend.

Three people were killed as a result of three separate crashes on Friday, July 2, and one died as a result of a crash on Saturday, July 3.

The fatality crashes occurred in Colfax, Lancaster, Platte and Washington counties.  The crashes were worked by the sheriff’s offices in all four counties.
The state patrol worked special traffic enforcement.

Activities included 788 speeding citations, 39 DUI arrests, 139 seatbelt warnings and citations, 41 child restrain citations and warnings and 209 motorists assists.
