The Nebraska City High School music department presented its pre-contest concert in the high school gymnasium on Wednesday, April12.
Expressions performances included New York State of Mind by Billy Joel and New York City Rhythm by Barry Manilow.
The Jazz Band included solos by Garrett Schomerus, Jake Runkles, Mayme Jordan and Ashley Stelling.
City Singers sang “If Ye Love Me, Keep My Commandments” by Thomas Tallis and “Fa Una Canzona” by Orazio Vecchi.
The Varsity Singers, accompanied by Jaymi Victor, were followed by the concert band.
