Work continues on the 4th Corso viaduct toward project completion in the summer of 2019. Pictured are three piers and pier caps which have been set into place. A bridge abutment and grade beams are being placed on the eastern side of the project. Work on the western side is on hold as the project is observing a 120-day settlement period before the western abutment and grade beams can be installed. Marty Stovall, construction and facilities manager for the city of Nebraska City, said the contractor on the project, Hawkins Construction, is monitoring the settlement plates on the western side in hopes that work could commence sooner than 120 days. As of this writing, the settlement period is near the day 30 mark.
