Concrete was the topic of discussion at the Nebraska City Rotary Club Wednesday afternoon.
Craig Neeman, manager of the Nebraska City NEBCO Concrete Industries plant, spoke to club members about projects around southeastern Nebraska that the company has been part of.
Neeman discussed a variety of projects the Nebraska City plant has taken part in, including pouring the bridge deck on Highway 2 when the overpass over the south intersection was recently completed.
NEBCO Concrete Industries employees were also involved in the replacement of a bridge near Lorton, the colorful decorative crosswalks in downtown Nebraska City, several hog confinements in Iowa, and a paving project at Waubonsie State Park near Hamburg.
Neeman said he also manages NEBCO concrete plants in Tecumseh, Syracuse, Falls City and Auburn, and he discussed projects that these plants have been involved with, including adding seating to the Peru State College football stadium and doing a 125-hour continuous pour at the Midwest Farmers Coop grain shuttle facility near Syracuse in 2016.
The Nebraska City Rotary Club meets at noon Wednesdays at the Eagles Club, 600 1st Corso. Lunch is $9 for guests.
