The Nebraska City Veterans Memorial Building doors will be open free of charge to the public over Memorial Day weekend.
A huge collection of photos and personal histories of over 800 men and woman from Nebraska who have served our country from World War 1 to the present will be on display.
In addition to the personal histories one of the largest private collections of military memorabilia, uniforms and war time artifacts will be available for viewing throughout the holiday weekend.
At 1 p.m. each day, a Quilt of Valor ceremony will take place sponsored by the Nebraska City Blue Star Mothers. A quilt specially made by a Blue Star Mother will be presented to an honored veteran who has served our country overseas.
The historic Veterans Memorial Building will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 26 through Monday May 28. The first 50 visitors each day will receive an American Flag. The building is located at 810 1st Corso, Nebraska City.
