For the third week in a row, the NCHS Pioneer Speech Team was in the top three in team sweeps as they took third at the Lincoln North Star Gator Invitational tournament Saturday, Feb. 10 behind Lincoln East and Millard North.

For the third week in a row, the NCHS Pioneer Speech Team was in the top three in team sweeps as they took third at the Lincoln North Star Gator Invitational tournament Saturday, Feb. 10 behind Lincoln East and Millard North.

 

Individually, Chloe HIggins, senior, was tournament champion in informative speaking, third in program oral interpretation, and third in nextin finals of original oratory. Oliver Borchers-Williams, senior, won tournament champion in extemporaneous speaking, and third in both informative speaking, and original oratory.  In humorous interpretation, Ellie Higgins, freshman, was tournament runner-up and also the top novice, while Sam Biaggi, junior, finished sixth in the nextin final round. Aubrey Thurman, senior, was third in entertainment speaking.

 

The Pioneer Speakers compete next at Lincoln East High School Friday, Feb. 16 and then host and compete in the Eastern Midlands Conference Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 17 at NCHS.
