Hope Lodge Nebraska is having a public open house on Saturday, Feb. 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 8030 Farnam Drive in Omaha.
A luminaria was purchased by our Relay for Life Committee and will be on display on the terrace of the Hope Lodge Nebraska Campus. The luminaria is shaped much link the luminaria we use at the Relay for Life and engraved on it is “Otoe County Relay for Life.”
The American Cancer Society Relay for Life Otoe County will be June 2 from 6 to 10 p.m. at South Park in Syracuse. The survivor meal will be at 5 p.m. If you are a survivor of or are undergoing treatment for cancer of any type or size, your are invited to be a guest for this survivor meal and celebration.
The committee is always looking for volunteers to help plan the events. With more volunteers, more can be accomplished. Maybe you have an organization that would be interested in collecting canned goods to be used in the luminaria bags during the June 2 event. Those canned good are then divided between the Syracuse and Nebraska City Food Pantries. So it’s a win-win situation.
Perhaps your organization, business or family would like to have a team to raise money for the Relay for Life event. The Relay for Life Mission is to save lives, celebrate lives and lead the fight for a world without cancer. Your help is needed in this effort. Please contact Patty Madsen at 402-209-4230 or 402-873-7718. Feel free to leave a message at either number.
Sponsorship packets will be coming out in the next couple of weeks. The sponsorship levels run from $125 to $1,500 and most levels include your business emblem on the back of our 2018 Relay for Life shirts. If you have questions or need information about sponsorship, call Joan Dutt at 402-708-6627.
