An audition will be held for the Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) production of  “Treasure Island” Monday, July 31, at the Nebraska City High School Auditorium beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Those auditioning should arrive at 9:15 a.m. and plan to stay for the full two hours. Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition, so organizers suggest bringing a sack lunch.
Among the roles to be cast are Jim Hawkins, his mother and six sisters, a rollicking Pirate Crew, Jim’s Ruffian friends, seacoast Villagers and cuddly Gulls.
Students who have completed kindergarten through 12th grade are eligible to audition. No advance preparation is necessary.
Assistant Directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week and to take on essential backstage responsibilities.
The Missoula Children's Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup.  MCT Tour Actor/Directors will conduct rehearsals throughout the week from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.
“Treasure Island” will be presented on Saturday, Aug. 5 at the Nebraska City High School Auditorium at 3 and 6:30 p.m.  The Missoula Children’s Theatre residency in Nebraska City is brought to you by the Nebraska City Fine Arts Committee with support from the Nelson Foundation.
