The Nebraska City City Council approved a bid of more than $300,000 to relocate and replace water and sewer mains as part of the 4th Corso Viaduct Replacement Project.
Council members approved the $300,043 bid from M.E. Collins Contracting Co. Inc. of Wahoo.
Another portion of 4th Corso was also discussed during the Monday night meeting as Construction and Facility Manager Marty Stovall presented the council with options to repair a 7-foot sinkhole that has opened on 4th Corso near the entrance to the city’s Parks Department facility.
Stovall briefly discussed three repair options and recommended that the council accept a  $17,150 bid from Barrett Construction to make repairs to the concrete culvert beneath the road.
Stovall said unspent capital improvement project funds from the Kearney Hill project could be used to pay for the repairs to 4th Corso.
