Nebraska City High School student Anna Gigstad and Cali, her red poodle, will travel to Luxembourg to represent the United States of America as a member of the American Kennel Club European Open Junior (EOJ) Agility  team. The competition dates are July 13–16, 2017. The competition will be dedicated only to junior handlers, and over seven different countries will be represented.

This year the 2017 AKC EOJ agility team USA consists of 23 junior handlers from all over the states, one of the largest groups ever. There are 19 juniors and four children with eight different breeds of dogs. There are nine border collies, five Shelties, five poodles, two Keeshounds, a cocker, a German shepherd dog and two all-Americans.

Anna has been competing since she was seven years old. She has run a variety of dogs: a golden retriever, a Jack Russell terrier, a chihuahua, and her newest, a red little poodle. Anna feels honored to be selected as a team member to represent the USA. She's looking forward to the competition and also to meeting all her teammates! Agility has taught Anna teamwork, sportsmanship and patience.
