St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 116 S. 9th St., will host the Nebraska City Community Ecumenical Good Friday Service beginning at noon. The Rev. Michael Schmidt of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ will deliver the message. Refreshments will be served after the service. The service is open to everyone in the community.
Nebraska City Care and Rehabilitation Center will host an Easter Egg hunt at 5:30 p.m. at 1420 N 10th St.
Saturday, April 15
The Dunbar Volunteer Fire Department will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. on the Dunbar School grounds. The hunt will follow the annual pancake feed, which begins at 7 a.m.
The Optimist Club of Nebraska City and the Nebraska City Jaycees will host an Easter Egg Hunt at 11 a.m. at the Steinhart Park Baseball Field. Children ages 0 to 9 years are welcome to hunt eggs, but they must bring their own baskets. Prize baskets will be given to children who find the lucky eggs.
Nebraska City Parks and Recreation will sponsor a Giant Easter Egg Hunt at 1 p.m. on the Central Avenue side of Steinhart Park. The hunt, open to children 9 years of age and younger, will be divided into four age divisions: under 3, 3 to 4, 5 to 6, and 7 to 9. The hunt will feature 4,000 eggs with 36 special prize winners.
An Easter Egg Hunt will take place at 2 p.m. in the yard of the Talmage Public Library, 405 Main St., Talmage. In the event of inclement weather, the hunt will take place in the Talmage Community Building.
Sunday, April 16
The First United Methodist Church in Nebraska City will be celebrating Easter with an Easter sunrise service at the Wildwood Shelter at Wildwood Park located on Steinhart Park Road.
The service will begin at 6:30 and will feature music, prayer, and scripture.
This service is open to the public and will be followed with breakfast being served at 7:30 at the First United Methodist Church, 1023 1st Ave.
