We fell in love literally on our very first date. We knew from the very first kiss that we were soul mates. We were engaged 3 months after our first date and had the wedding of our dreams. Though we've had a lot of ups and downs and found out that marriage isn't always easy, we've come through stronger and more in love because of the hardships. The year of 2009 was a very difficult year for us. Kids, college, careers, and life in general got us a little off course. We almost forgot about that first date, about being soul mates, and about how much we meant to each other...But one afternoon in December, completely out of the blue, we sat down together, just the two of us, and watched our wedding video for no particular reason. Seeing that day, seeing how in love we were, and hearing those marriage vows all over again instantly brought us back to "us". All of the hardships and heartache disappeared and it was like that first date all over again. We honestly fell head over heels for each other once more, right there on our couch, in our living room, looking into each other's eyes while our wedding video played on our TV. We learned from this experience that sometimes marriage is really hard, sometimes the people you love the most are the people you hurt the worst. But, in the end, you're stronger for it, love really does conquer all, and when two people are meant to be together nothing can tear them apart. Love means forgiving and forgetting and never keeping score. We are going to celebrate our 10-year anniversary in May with a renewal of our wedding vows and are honestly more in love now than we were when we first made them 10 years ago.
