Nebraska City marked Veterans Day Wednesday with a presentation at the Nebraska City High School and flag displays.

Veterans Randy Powell and Harold Huss of Nebraska City were among volunteers to put up 90 flags around the Otoe County Courthouse and war memorial.

Powell said a good turnout of 28 volunteers meant the flags were up in about 20 minutes.

Volunteers from Youth as Resources were also on hand in the afternoon to take the flags down.
Mayor Jack Hobbie gave a Veteran’s Day proclamation at the high school.
Paula Waterfield of the Blue Star Mothers also spoke.

Rep. Jeff Fortenberry also attended.
