Sidney Iowa Rodeo crowns Mcnees as 2010 queen

Amanda Mcnees was crowned Sidney Iowa Rodeo Queen prior to the opening of the 87th annual rodeo Tuesday.

2009 Queen Morgan Mowery, who led the queen’s horsemanship competition at the rodeo arena, presented McNees with the crown.

She was also congratulated by Miss Rodeo Iowa Jordanne Blair and Miss Teen Rodeo Iowa Hannah Hilsabeck.

Mcnees, a study at Clarinda High School, currently works as a tech assistant for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Resources Conservation Service. She has worked as a stable hand at Lagrange.

Also competing Tuesday were Britney Larabee and Jodi Thrane.
