The Nebraska City City Council will meet tonight, May 18 at City Hall at 6 p.m.
Agenda items include proclamations and presentations, including recognition of Bill Thomas for his years of service and introduction of the police department's newest sergeant.
New business includes:
Reimbursing Nebraska City Utilities for capital expenses using bonds;
Request by Grant Boden to change name of Riverview Park to Riverview Nature Park;
Discussion of appointing stewards for Riverview Nature Park;
Requests by Nebraska City Jaycees to hold Fourth of July fireworks and to hold their Road Block Fundraiser;
Consider contract with Nebraska Department of Economic Development for Downtown Revitalization Grant;
Request by Ernie Rink to close portion of Central Avenue Sept. 20 for car show;
Consider approving estimate for Rowe Memorial Safety Complex renovation;
An amendment to the pet ordinance;
An amendment to the cemetery ordinance;
Request by Fellowship of Christian Athletes to use Wildwood Shelter Wednesdays April thorugh October at no charge;
Consider participating in Early Warning System Joint Purchasing Project;
Consider plumber's license for Pioneer Excavating Company.
A council retreat is planned for May 21, 2-5 p.m. at city hall.
