Nebraska City’s over-50 crowd may soon have another option for entertainment Tuesday and Thursday nights. The city may add a “senior night” at the pool after the normal closing time. Seniors would be charged $1 for pool admission between 8 and 9 p.m. The pool closes to the general public at 8 p.m.
The proposed senior night is one of the changes listed on a new Nebraska City Code Fee Schedule. City Administrator Pat Haverty presented the proposed schedule to the City Council at Monday night’s regular meeting.
Under the new fee schedule, the daily admission rate for the pool would remain $3.50, with a new $2 rate for admission after 6 p.m.
The family season pass would remain $85, the single pass $40 and commercial season pass $100.
Public Properties Director Dan Giittinger said the senior nights are an effort to get more use out of the pool. City commissioners have not yet voted to approve the new fee schedule.
