The Nebraska Highway Commission approved construction of a new highway bridge over the Missouri River at Rulo.
Construction could begin in 2011 and the bridge open to traffic in 2013.
At a Dec. 2 public hearing at Camp Rulo River Club, the state reviewed plans for a new two-lane bridge to connect U.S. Highway 159 with Rulo.
The new bridge will be 2,400 feet long and will be located about 650 feet south of the current bridge.
