A bandit who likes to munch apples loafed around Nehawka, southern Cass county town, all afternoon Monday and then held up the Nehawka Bank 10 minutes before closing time. He got away with $4,177 in cash.
Victims of the robbery described the man as "determined" and apparently experienced in the stick-up trade.
The middle-aged man, who spent four hours on the Main Street of little Nehawka, and was seen by scores of people, locked Mrs. Walter Wunderlich, the wife of the bank's president, and Mrs. Dorothy Dodson, the bookkeeper, in the vault before he left town.
Mr. Wunderlich, away from the bank at the time of the robbery, returned at 4 o'clock and let the women out of the vault.
