Nebraska City firefighters extinguished a pickup truck fire Friday afternoon that may have started when transmission on a hot engine ignited.
Fire Chief Alan Viox said the 1994 Ford F150 pickup truck was a total loss after fire spread from the engine to the cab before firefighters arrived at the rural home of Ross Baker on north 58th Road.
Baker’s daughter Sierra had just parked the truck at the residence and added transmission fluid prior to the 1:09 p.m. fire.
