Local officials familiar with the levee at Percival said they hope the Missouri River level will drop low enough in the next two weeks to end water pouring through the breech.

The river stage at Nebraska City is now 19 feet. At 13 feet, the levee district can open flood gates and water will run from the lowland into the river channel.
