Otoe County Assessor Andrea Walters dies

Otoe County Assessor Andrea L. Walters, 30, of Nebraska City, died on Aug. 7, 2008, at her home of cancer. She worked in the Otoe County Assessor's office prior to being elected in 2006. She took office in January of 2007 and was diagnosed with cancer shortly therafter.

She graduated from Nebraska City High School in 1996 and from Peru State College in 2001, where she received a bachelor of science degree.

Viewing will be held on Sunday, Aug. 10, from 1-8 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. at Peterson Mortuary Chapel in Nebraska City.

Funeral service will be Monday, Aug. 11, at 2 p.m. at the Bethel United Church of Christ in Nebraska City.

Burial will follow at the Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City.
