Frances L. (Royal) McWilliams, 77, Unadilla, died Monday, July 14, 2008, at her home. She was born April 29, 1931, at Palmyra, to Dennis and Mary (Kempkes) Royal. She married Ross A. McWilliams Feb. 18, 1950, at St. Paulinus Catholic Church, Syracuse.

A homemaker, McWilliams was a member of St. Paulinus Catholic Church, St. Paulinus Altar Society and past president of LDCCW.

Surviving are her husband, Ross, Unadilla; daughters, Kathleen and husband Wayne Schomerus, Joyce Gilbert and Donna McWilliams, all Syracuse; Diane and husband Ted Oelke, and Janet and husband Rex Oelke, all Unadilla; sons, Daniel and wife Babette, Unadilla; Charles and wife Debra, and Keith and wife Tracy, all Syracuse, and David and wife Mary Beth, Lincoln; 26 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Behrens, Lincoln; Bertha Malone, Palmyra, and Teresa Brandt, Syracuse; brothers-in-law, Harold and Dorothy McWilliams, Syracuse, and Charles McWilliams and wife Carol, Fairfield, Mont.; sisters-in-law, Dorothy, Helen and Evelyn Royal and Rosemary Kavanaugh; special friends, Berdean West and Elsie Snyder; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her parents; parents-in-law, Charles and Leona McWilliams; an infant son; nine brothers; five sisters; eight brothers-in-law and five sisters-in-law.

Services were Friday, July 18, at St. Paulinus Catholic Church, Syracuse. Father Michael Stec officiated. Interment was at Dudley Cemetery near Syracuse.

Pallbearers were Chad, Eric, Ashley and Dustan Oelke; Gabriel and Lucas Staack; and Justin, Ethan, Anthony and Mitchell McWilliams.

Honorary pallbearers were Angela Vogt; Barbara Johnson; Rebecca Davis; Sally Miller; Pamela Carlson; Elizabeth, Stephanie and Shelby Oelke; Jessica Cota; Brigette Staack; Jaclyn Kachaturian; Holly Finke; Meredith McLaughlin; and Jamie, Tirsa and Mariah McWilliams.

Barb Neels was organist and vocalist.
