Robert H. Speth, 83, Lincoln, died Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at Holmes Lake Manor, Lincoln. He was born May 10, 1925, at Palmyra, son of Herman and Lela (Brant) Speth. He married Bernice Mae Engel April 20, 1947, at Burr. She died Jan. 15, 2007.
Speth was a welder, and tool and die worker. He worked at Cushman Motor Works 41 years.
Surviving are a daughter, Carol Ann, Lincoln; brothers, Ralph and Betty, Elmwood; John and wife Peggy, Ellisville, Mo.; and Dean and wife Donna, Unadilla; and a sister, Jean Ruppert and husband Bob, McCook.
Besides his wife, Speth was preceded by his parents; brothers, Glen and Richard, and a sister, Pansy June.
Services were Saturday, July 19, at Hope Lutheran Church, Burr. Pastor Steve Billington officiated. Interment was at Hope Lutheran Cemetery northeast of Burr.
Pallbearers were Richard and Jon Speth, Steve Ruppert, Guy Mathers, Danny Brethouwer and Chad Gerking.
Honorary pallbearers were Ralph, John and Dean Speth; Harold and Robert Ruppert and Bruce Gerking.
There was congregational singing.
Memorials are suggested to Hope Lutheran Church or the family’s choice.
