A 55-year-old Unadilla man was killed Tuesday in a one-vehicle accident on Highway 2.

The Otoe County Sheriff’s Office reports that Harry Kempkes was driving a 1992 Oldsmobile westbound on the highway a half mile west of Road 16 three miles west of Unadilla. The vehicle left the right side of the highway and entered Hooper Creek.

Kempkes, the only occupant in the car, was fatally injured. He was wearing a seat belt.

Fire and Rescue units from Unadilla and Palmyra responded to the scene as well.
