JUNIOR tourney games rescheduled

Cody Robinson and the Syracuse American Legion Juniors baseball team will play an elimination game at 5 p.m. Saturday against Crete. The Friday schedule of games was postponed until Saturday due Thursday's rain storms.

Rain storms that struck Southeast Nebraska Thursday night have forced changes in the American Legion Class B Area One Juniors tourney schedule at Auburn. Thursday's nightcap between Beatrice and Fairbury was moved to Friday at 6 p.m. due to the weather. The original Friday schedule will be played on Saturday.

Nebraska City, which beat Auburn in an elimination game Thursday, will play an elimination game at 2:30 p.m. Saturday against the Friday winner of Beatrice-Fairbury.

Syracuse played Falls City and fell by a count of 4-1 on Thursday. The Rockets will return to action against Crete for an elimination game at 5 p.m. Saturday. Crete rallied from down 8-3 in the sixth inning to pull off a win over Hickman in a Thursday elimination game.

The 7:30 p.m. Saturday game will feature the Beatrice-Fairbury winner taking on Falls City in the winner’s bracket championship game.
