Track teams from Syracuse-Dunbar-Avoca High School completed the regular season schedule by competing at the Johnson County Central Invite at Tecumseh last Other teams on the boys’ side were Wilber-Clatonia, 65; Weeping Water, 52; Elmwood-Murdock, 46; Falls City Sacred Heart, 35; Palmyra, 30; Southern, 26; Conestoga, 16; Johnson County Central, 15; and Lincoln Southwest junior varsity, 10. Other teams in the field included Falls City Sacred Heart, 63.83; Weeping Water, 63; Elmwood-Murdock, 62; Louisville, 27; Palmyra, 11; Conestoga, 11; Southern, 7; and Lincoln Southwest junior varsity, 5.3. Aside from the Rockets, teams attending the district meet at Plattsmouth include Ashland-Greenwood, Auburn, Conestoga, Falls City, Gretna, Nebraska City, Norris, Platteview, Plattsmouth, and Waverly. Two of the golds came in the relay races as the Rockets were first in the 3200 meters, 8:46.1, and 400, 46.2. Aden was first in the 1600 meters, 4:45.2, and 3200 meters, 10:10.8. Neels was first in the 300 meter hurdles, 42.1, and 110 meter hurdles, 16.1. Other medalists were Preston Kellum, fifth, 110 meter hurdles, 17.0; Ryan Callahan, fourth, 3200 meters, 11:00, and third , 1600 meters, 5:08.1; Garrett Sand, sixth, 800 meters, 2:16.5; Scott Wiebusch, sixth, shot, 44’10.5; and Brett Copley, fifth, discus, 128’6.5”. Other individual Rocket results were unavailable at the time of press on Tuesday. The top two relay times will also advance to state. Girls’ field event qualifying standards are high jump, 5’2”; long jump, 16’10”; triple jump, 35’3”; shot, 38’11”; discus, 118’4”; and vault, 9’6”. |
