Knights to state

Lourdes finished in eighth place on the girls' side and third place on the boys' side at the Class C district track meet at Tecumseh on Thursday. Lincoln Christian won the girls' event with 117 points, while the Knights had 28.5. Christian also won the boys' side with 175 points. Lourdes had 85.

State qualifiers for the event and their individual schedules for the state meet next weekend at Omaha Burke High School follow.

Ema Rickman, first at districts in the discus, 126', will compete at 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 16.

Greg Stevens qualified for state in the long jump with a second place 20'3"; in the high jump with a first place leap of 5'11", and in the triple jump with a first place leap of 42'3". The triple jump will be at 3 p.m. Friday, May 16, with the high jump at 5:30 p.m.. The long jump will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 17.

Matt Beccard qualified with a first place discus effort of 145' and will compete at state at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, May 17.

Alex Heng qualified with a first place time in the 110 meter hurdles, 15.2, and a third place time of 40.7 in the 300 meter hurdles. He will compete in the 110 meter hurdles at 4:40 p.m. Friday, May 16, then compete in the 300 meter hurdles at 7:30 p.m.
