Julia Marie Policky, 95, Columbus, formerly Syracuse, died Friday, May 2, 2008, at BryanLGH Hospital, Lincoln. She was born Sept. 13, 1912, at Plasi, Neb., daughter of George and Celestine Bartek. She married Adolph Policky Nov. 27, 1934.
Besides Syracuse and Columbus, Policky also lived at Brainard and Weston. She was a member of St. Anthony’s and St. Paulinus Altar Societies, Prayer Lines and Pink Sisters of Lincoln. She enjoyed work in her flower garden, prayer and family.
Surviving are sons, Frank and Lena, and Lee and Kim; daughters, Marlene Lowery, and Judy Macari and Gene Groene; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and a sister, Lillian and Frank Pekarek.
She was preceded by her parents, husband; daughter, Patricia; six brothers and three sisters.
Rosary was Tuesday, May 6, at St. Paulinus Catholic Church, Syracuse. Mass was Wednesday, May 7, at St. Anthony’s, Columbus, with graveside service later that day at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.
Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
