Betty (Grim) Ruhge, 78, Avoca, died Thursday, May 1, 2008, at Omaha. She was born May 31, 1929, at Stillwater, Okla., daughter of Earnest and Opal (Howe) Grim. She married Buster Reynolds June 30, 1951. He died in August 1965. She married Roy Ruhge Feb. 26, 1973.
A 1947 graduate of Pawnee, Okla., High School, she moved to Tulsa, Okla., to work. She worked for an insurance lawyer while her first husband was a city bus driver. After her second marriage, Ruhge attended Lincoln Business College to obtain a degree as a paralegal. She was a member of the United Church of Christ, Congregational, where she served as church clerk and a member of a women’s group. Ruhge was Avoca village clerk more than 20 years. She enjoyed sewing, reading, quilting and golf.
Surviving are a sister, Mary (Monroe) McKill, Tullahoma, Tenn.; a brother, Bill Grim, Norman, Okla.; stepson, Bruce and Lynette Ruhge, Omaha; two grandchildren, Chelsea and Tyson Ruhge, Omaha; numerous nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
She was preceded by her parents; husband; and two brothers, Jack and Jim Grim.
Services were Monday, May 5, at United Church of Christ, Congregational, Avoca. Pastor Portia Iverson officiated. Marvelle Hansen was pianist.
Pallbearers were Orville Cruz, David Seay, Rod Ruhge, Darrel Brinkhoff, John Sutton and Jerry Pointer.
