Jerry Duane Lee, 69, died at Lake Havasu City, Ariz., after a short battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He was born July 27, 1938, at Omaha, son of Robert and Elsie (Jensen) Lee.
From 1951-54, he served under the direction of the Nebraska National Guard and U.S. Army. In recent years he volunteered as a coordinator for the Disabled American Veterans, and he cared deeply about his veterans. Lee was an avid Broncos fan, and enjoyed entertaining and playing cards at home. He was a member of Elks Lodge No. 2399, Eagles No. 4299 and American Legion Post 81.
Surviving are his wife of 20 years, Karen “Kathy” Lee, Lake Havasu; son, Mikel and Lemona Martinson, Needles, Calif.; daughter, Jerry Ann Lee, Desert Hot Springs, Calif.; stepson, Michael and Deborah Stratton, San Bernadino, Calif.; sisters, Mary Ann and Carl Frakes, Lake Havasu, and Bobbie and Marlin Kidd and Norma Lee, all Nebraska City, and Dorothy Higgins, Fontana, Calif.; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Friday, April 25, from 6-8 p.m. at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. Scripture services will be Saturday, April 26, at 9:30 a.m. at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. Interment will be at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens.
Members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9401 and American Legion Post 81 will conduct full military honors.
