Elaine E. Stolz

Elaine Emma Stolz, 71, Douglas, died Sunday, April 20, 2008 at the Tabitha Health Care Center in Lincoln, Nebraska after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born May 17, 1936 in Lorton, daughter of Henry and Frieda (Wiese) Ruenholl. She married Gail Stolz April 26, 1960 at St. John’s United Church of Christ, McWilliams, near Talmage.

Stolz graduated from Talmage High School in 1954. After graduation she worked at the Syracuse Medical Center. After marriage the lived at Burr for three years before they moved to a farm near Douglas where they farmed and operated a dairy business for over 40 years. She loved to spend time in her garden, and also enjoyed baking and quilting. Stolz was a member of the Douglas United Methodist Church, and was active with the United Methodist Women.

Surviving are her husband, Gail; sons, Gary and wife Sheila Stolz, Douglas, and Larry and wife Tammie Stolz, Lincoln; daughters, Diane and husband Kirk Spellman, Lincoln; and Jean and husband Doug Tweton, Greenwood; brother, Harold Ruenholl, Syracuse; grandchildren, Garrett and Sheanna Stolz; Holly, Megan, Cassie, Tessa and Simon Stolz; Tyler and Zach Spellman; and Josie and Jaiden Tweton; and numerous friends, family and others.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Marvin Ruenholl.

Services will be on Thursday, April 24, at 10:30 a.m. at the Douglas United Methodist Church. The Rev. Lyn Seiser will officiate. Interment will be at Rosehill Cemetery, Douglas.
