Earl T. Story, 96, of Nebraska City, died April 15, 2008 at the Morton House. He was born on June 20, 1911 on the family farm west of Rossville, Kan., the son of Thomas Daniel and Laura Elizabeth (Hovey) Story. He married Viola Mae Johnson on June 2, 1936 in Clarinda, Iowa. He told stories and enjoyed telling about “his” kids coming into the store to buy penny candy. He often said that he raised two generations of kids at the store. He enjoyed golfing until he was 93. He was a member of Western Star Lodge #2, the Eagles Aerie #968 in Nebraska City, the Elks, the American Legion Post #8 and U.C.T.
