Sarah Beckman, 107, Burr, died Thursday, April 10, 2008, at her home. She was born March 2, 1901, at Unadilla, daughter of William and Nellie (Arnold) Stillwell. She married Arnold Beckman.
A teacher and principal, Beckman was an 89-year member of Eastern Star, Palmyra, loved quilting at Hope Lutheran Church, and enjoyed gardening and playing cards. Cooking brought memories of macaroni and cheese, scalloped potatoes, and her canning jams and jellies.
Surviving are a daughter, Catherine Carlson, Moorhead, Minn; granddaughter Kjrstin Carlson, Williston, N.D., and Sarah and husband Jeff Kragerud, Fargo, N.D.; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded by her parents; husband Arnold, and brothers and sisters.
Services were Monday, April 14, at Hope Lutheran Church, Burr. Pastor William Dressen officiated.
