Sarah Elizabeth Beckmann, 107, Burr, died Thursday, April 10, 2008, at her home. She was born March 2, 1901, at Unadilla, daughter of William and Nellie (Arnold) Stillwell. She married Arnold Beckmann.

A teacher and principal, Beckmann was an 89-member of Eastern Star, Palmyra; loved quilting at Hope Lutheran Church, gardening and playing cards. Cooking brought memories of macaroni and cheese, scalloped potatoes, and her canning her jams and jellies.

Surviving are a daughter, Catherine Carlson, Moorhead, Minn.; granddaughter Kjrstin Carlson, Williston, N.D.; Sarah and husband Jeff Kragerud, Fargo, N.D.; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded by her parents, husband Arnold; and brothers and sisters.

Services were Monday, April 14, at Hope Lutheran Church, Burr. Pastor William Dressen officiated.

Pallbearers were Bruce Gerking, John Stillwell, Charles Brown, Jeff Kragerud, Robert Cameron and Orlin Moss.

Dianne Riensche was organist. There was congregational singing.
