Robert Bruce Huber, 79, Nebraska City, died Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at his home. He was born Dec. 3, 1928, at Nebraska City, son of George and Daisy (Price) Huber. He married Joan Volkmer Feb. 18, 1958, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Paul.
Huber served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean conflict from 1951-53. He was a hard-working and dedicated farmer who worked hard to provide for his loving family. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church near Avoca. He was a proud father and grandfather who always enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife, Joan, Nebraska City; five daughters, Kris Barrett and husband Jerry, and Gayle Wurtele and husband Lou, all Nebraska City; Lisa Buchholz and husband Jim, Otoe; Lori Everett and husband David, Union; and Nadine Meyer and husband Bill, Avoca; 13 grandchildren; siblings, Mary Staack, Syracuse; Beatrice Stastny, Yerington, Nev.; Dorothy Gruenemeyer, Indianapolis; Ben Huber, Schuyler; Yvonne Smith, Boise, Idaho; and Karen Reinecke, Huntington, Calif.; and a host of other family members and friends.
He was preceded by his parents and a grandson.
Funeral mass was Monday, March 24, at St. Paulinus Catholic Church, Syracuse. Interment was at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Military services were conducted by members of the U.S. Marines Funeral Honor Detail.
Memorials may be given to Tabitha Hospice, ALS of the Heartland or Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Avoca.
