Mona L. Ringle, 94, Nebraska City, formerly of Fremont, died Thursday, March 20, 2008, at St. Mary’s Community Hospital, Nebraska City. She was born May 29, 1913, at Hamburg, daughter of Mon and Eva (Marvin) Callahan. She married Wesley F. Ringle April 16, 1933, at Fremont. He died Nov. 13, 1998.
She grew up at Hamburg and later moved to Fremont. She and her husband owned Ringle Salvage Yard. Ringle enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and neighborhood children. She was a former member of the Free Methodist Church, Fremont, where she was a Sunday school teacher and was active in the church. While living in Nebraska City Ringle attended First Baptist Church. She was a member of Fremont Alliance Church, where she was involved in many church activities.
Surviving are a son, David, Fremont; sister, Doris Osbon, Nebraska City; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; three nieces, Sue Jones, Texas, Linda Cummings, Corpus Christi, Texas, and Kathleen Smutz, Fremont; three nephews, Tom and Wayne Stork, Apache Junction, Ariz., and Mick Osbon, Nebraska City.
Besides her husband, Ringle was preceded by a son, Dale; and four sisters, Ruth Johnson, Martha Kirchmann, Irene Stork and Marjorie Callahan.
Services are Tuesday, March 25, at 2 p.m. at Fremont Alliance Church, Fremont. The Rev. Keith Hunt of First Baptist Church, Nebraska City, will officiate. Interment will be at Ridge Cemetery, Fremont.
Visitation will be March 25 from 9-11 a.m. at Moser Memorial Chapel, Fremont, and at the church an hour before the service.
