Mark Buker gets out of his pickup after collecting some personal items after an accident on Highway 2 left the belongings he was transporting scattered along the roadside.

Mark Buker’s move from Missouri to his hometown of Paxton, Neb., hit a few bumps in the road Monday when his 2003 Chevrolet pickup truck was struck on Highway 2 and rolled. Buker’s personal belongings, including his albums, clothes and kitchen ware, were scattered. Debris from the truck knocked over one of the cast iron lamp poles of the city streetscape near East Fourth Corso. Investigators say a northbound van driven by Joseph McAllister left Valmont Drive trying to cross the highway. The van hit Buker’s pickup and then hit an International truck that was parked at a stop sign. The driver of the truck, Steven Adkins of Nebraska City, said the accident developed before his eyes so fast that he didn’t even have time to honk his horn. No serious injuries were reported. Buker is shown on top of his pickup after retrieving some personal items.
