Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling broke his silence after being caught on tape saying he didn’t like his girlfriend taking black people to Clippers games, and he told Anderson Cooper, “I am not a racist.” He continued, saying, "I made a terrible, terrible mistake. And I'm here with you today to apologize and to ask for forgiveness for all the people that I've hurt. … I caused the problem. I don't know how to correct it.” Sterling also said he was set up by his girlfriend. “I was baited. I mean, that's not the way I talk. I don't talk about people for one thing, ever. I talk about ideas and other things. I don't talk about people." The NBA banned Sterling from attending games and levied a huge fine against him. The league also wants Sterling to sell the team.
