McGowen, Harker, Rasmussen and Cumro were four of over 40 people in the city who were called by the MDA Omaha office recruiters. Participants were served "warrants for their arrest" and "locked up" in the basement of the bank for an hour. People had to call friends and loved ones to get "bail money," or rather donations for MDA, to be released. Rustin Buysee, MDA Omaha office fundraising coordinator, said the goal was for each person to raise $1,600 a piece, which would send two area children suffering from muscular dystrophy to Camp Comeca in Cozad. Rustin said the event raised $10,000.
