Lela Mae Goeden, age 90 years, 11 months and 5 days, of Lorton, Nebraska passed away Thursday, August 21, 2014, at the Bryan Medical Center East in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Lela Mae Covert was born on September 16, 1923, in Murray, Nebraska to LeRoy F. and Margaret E. (Maybee)  Covert.  Lela and David Nicholas Goeden were united in marriage on August 11, 1946 in Hays, Kansas. Lela was a homemaker for her family and enjoyed playing cards (Kings in the Corners and Cribbage) watching Nebraska Football, game shows and old westerns on tv. Lela’s great love was being with family and friends. Lela was preceded in death by her parents, husband , sisters; Sheila, and Vesta , brothers; Elburn (Sonny), Wilmer (Pug), infant brothers John and Robert, son-in-law Omer Voyles, grandson Rocky Densberger II, and great grandson Billy Peterson.
Those left to cherish her memory are brothers LeRoy (Jerry) of Unadilla Nebraska, and Dan Covert of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; children; Sharon Voyles of Avoca,  Nebraska, Patricia Petersen and husband Terry of Dunbar, Nebraska, Vicki Densberger and husband Rocky of Talmage, Nebraska, Marie Secan and husband Phil of LaVista, Nebraska; David Goeden and wife Stephanie of Russellville, Arkansas; Marlene Ayers and husband Larry of California; Donald Goeden and wife Beverly of Lincoln, Nebraska.  11 grandchildren: Nicholas Moore, Angie McElroy, Brian Petersen, Kim Manley, Ronnie Tyson, Lori Peterson, Shellie Dallas, Frank Samas, Tim Goeden, Jason Goeden and Josh Goeden; 30 great grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; and other relatives and friends.  A special thank you to Craig Davis and Arthur Martin for their loving kindness and support.
Viewing was held on Sunday, August 24, 2014, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday, August 25, 2014, 9:00 a.m. until service time at Peterson Mortuary in Nebraska City, Nebraska.
A Celebration of the Life Funeral Service for Lela Mae Goeden was held on Monday, August 25, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. at the Peterson Mortuary Chapel in Nebraska City, Nebraska.
