  • Esther Ann Kendall, 85, died May 9, 2014 at Duff’s Friendship Villa in Nebraska City. She
    was born Aug. 9, 1928 in Nebraska City to Roy and Deborah (Heafey) Mullis. She married Robert Kendall, Sr. Jan. 7, 1950 in Murray. Robert died June 23, 1998 on the family farm.

  • Esther Ann Kendall, 85, died May 9, 2014 at Duff’s Friendship Villa in Nebraska City. She
    was born Aug. 9, 1928 in Nebraska City to Roy and Deborah (Heafey) Mullis.  She married Robert Kendall, Sr. Jan. 7, 1950 in Murray.  Robert died June 23, 1998 on the family farm.  
        Esther was a homemaker and farmed on the family farm with her husband for many years.  She was a life-long resident of the Union area.  Her great-grandfather Conrad Mullis was the first blacksmith in Nebraska City.  
        Esther was a member of the Union Baptist Church, Union American Legion Auxiliary and was a past 4-H leader.  She loved sewing, gardening and canning.  
        Esther is survived by son Robert Kendall, Jr. and wife Deborah of Union; daughter Marcia Ann Rengifo and husband Pedro of Norfolk; six grandchildren, Rachel Hamling and husband Roger, Megan Kendall, Phillip Rengifo, David Kendall, Patricia Lant and  husband Greg and Christina Rengifo; five great grandchildren, Tayler Kendall, Reed Hamling, Gabriella Rengifo, Emilia Lant and Wesley Lant; many other relatives and friends.  
        Besides her husband, she was preceded by brothers Paul Mullis and Donald Mullis and sisters Connie Mullis, Gretchen Everett and Deb Guy.  
        Graveside funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, at East Union Cemetery with Rev. James Gill Cummings of the Union Baptist Church officiating.
        Visitation will be 1-9 p.m. Tuesday at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City with the family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m.
        Memorials are suggested to the Union Baptist Church.
