  • Marlene K. Ramold, 76, of Nebraska City died April 24, 2014 at Morton Place in Nebraska City. She was born on Feb. 16, 1938 at Payne Junction, Iowa, to Eugene and Nellie (Cockerham) Walker.

  • Marlene K. Ramold, 76, of Nebraska City died April 24, 2014 at Morton Place in Nebraska City. She was born on Feb. 16, 1938 at Payne Junction, Iowa, to Eugene and Nellie (Cockerham) Walker.  
        She graduated from Sidney, Iowa, High School in 1956.  She then attended Northwest Missouri State University at Maryville, Mo.
        She married Kenneth E. Ramold on Oct. 14, 1961 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nebraska City.  
        She worked for the Omaha World Herald, Nebraska City News-Press, Sears, Morton Orchard and Culligan Water Company.  She was a devoted housewife and homemaker and a loving wife and mother.  She was a member of St. Benedict's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers and Catholic Daughters .
        She is survived by husband Kenny Ramold of Nebraska City; children David Ramold of Houston, Texas, Vicki Hume and husband Todd of Beaver Lake and Greg Ramold and wife Paula of Nebraska City; grandchildren Emily Molloy and husband Sean, Ben Hume and Audrey Hume; nieces and nephews, other family and many friends.
        She was preceded by sisters Louise James and Phyllis Sonego.
        Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 30, at 11 a.m. at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Nebraska City with Fr. Mark Cyza and Fr. Lyle Johnson celebrating the Mass.  Burial will be in St. Benedict's Cemetery.
        Pallbearers will be Sean Molloy, Ben Hume, Eric Cavahaugh, Doug Sonego, Brad Sonego and Vincent James.
        A prayer service and rosary recitation will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Gude Mortuary.
        Memorials may be directed to St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Nebraska City.
