  • Weather permitting, work is scheduled to begin the week of April 28 on US-136 from Auburn to Brownville, according to the Nebraska Department of Roads.
    Constructors, Inc., of Lincoln, Nebraska, has the $4,968,000 contract for the 10-mile
    highway improvement project. Work consists of grading, concrete patching, bridge and asphalt
    overlay, guardrail and seeding.
    Traffic will be maintained at all times on US-136. Pilot cars and flaggers will be used
    during the concrete patching, bridge overlay and asphalt overlay operations. Motorists are
    reminded that fines for speeding are doubled in work zones when workers are present.
    Motorists are also reminded to watch for construction vehicles entering and exiting construction
    work areas.
    Work is anticipated to be completed in the fall of 2014. The Department of Roads’
    manager for this project is Mike Habegger of Tecumseh.
