  • Peru State's baseball team moved up in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Western Division standings as they won three of four games this weekend over the visiting Avila University Eagles.

  • Peru State's baseball team moved up in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Western Division standings as they won three of four games this weekend over the visiting Avila University Eagles.
     
    On Friday, Peru State won 10-2 and 9-0.  Then, on Saturday, the 'Cats had an 11-0 win before falling in the second game 8-2.
     
    With the wins, the Bobcats improved to 25-13 overall and 13-7 in the HAAC.  Avila fell to 13-19 overall and 3-15 in conference play.
    On Tuesday, Peru State will travel to Sioux City, Iowa, to play one nine-inning contest with Morningside College.   Currently, the Mustangs are 16-19 on the season.  This will be a non-conference match-up which will begin at 4 p.m.
     
    On Wednesday, the 'Cats will be in Omaha for more non-conference play when they face Grace University.  Presently, the Royals are 24-13 in their first year of baseball competition.  The double header is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
     
    Friday and Saturday, Peru State will be back in conference play when they travel to Baldwin City, Kan., to take on the Baker University Wildcats.  At this point, the Wildcats are 14-22 overall and 9-9 in the HAAC Western Division.
