  • Marshall Younts, 69, of Sidney, Iowa, died March 31, 2014 unexpectedly at his home. He was born May 23, 1944 in Hamburg to Ralph Edwin and Darlene Okal (Ventis) Younts.

  • Marshall Younts, 69, of Sidney, Iowa, died March 31, 2014 unexpectedly at his home. He was born May 23, 1944 in Hamburg to Ralph Edwin and Darlene Okal (Ventis) Younts.  
        On July 3, 1965, he married Evalee Taylor Younts in Corpus Christie, Texas.  Marshall served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and had a career as a supervisor in the meat packing industry.
     
        He was a member of the Williams-Jobe-Gibson American Legion Post #128 in Sidney.
        Marshall was preceded by his parents and wife Evalee Younts.  
        He is survived by daughter Angela Sickmon and husband Darren of Loveland, Colo.; sons Donald Wayne Younts and Shawn Hayward of Des Moines and Mike Younts and wife Gail of Sidney;  eight grandchildren, Zachary Clay Younts, Jarid Kent Younts, Chelsey Jade Tennal and husband Kenton, Drew Stanley, Adam Condon, Brianne Condon, Bryant Reafleng and Evalee Younts; great granddaughter Tylie Nash Tennal; sisters Judy Rooney and husband Ronald of Des Moines and Debbie Blevins and husband Bruce of Sidney; brothers David Younts and wife Carol of Boothbay, Maine, and Alan Younts and wife Karen of Granger, Iowa; numerous nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.  
     
        Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 3, at the Sidney Cemetery with Pastor Jan Phillips of the Thurman, Iowa, United Methodist Church officiating.  
        Visitation will be open after 5 p.m. Wednesday and the family will greet friends from 5-6 p.m. Wednesday at the Crawford-Marshall Funeral Chapel in Sidney.  
        Memorials will go to the Sidney City Park and military graveside rites will be by the Williams-Jobe-Gibson American Legion Post #128 of Sidney.   
        The Crawford-Marshall Funeral Chapel in Sidney is in charge of arrangements.
