  • With a pair of walk-off wins in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Peru State softball team snapped a five-game losing streak by sweeping the visiting Langston University Lions on Sunday in Peru.

  • With a pair of walk-off wins in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Peru State softball team snapped a five-game losing streak by sweeping the visiting Langston University Lions on Sunday in Peru.
    With the wins, the Bobcats improved to 17-14 on the season while Langston fell to 15-21. The Lions from Langston, Okla., are currently an NAIA team which is transitioning into NCAA Division II.
    Peru State starts a 12-game road stretch which will start on Tuesday when they travel to Baldwin City, Kan., to face the Baker University Wildcats. Baker is currently 14-14 overall and are 4-0 in the HAAC. Game time for the double header is scheduled for 3 p.m.
    On Saturday, the Bobcats will travel to Marshall, Mo., to take on Missouri Valley College in conference play. Presently, the Vikings are 2-14 overall and 0-4 in the HAAC. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
    Sunday, the 'Cats will go back out of the HAAC and will travel to Hastings College for a double header that begins at 2 p.m. At this point, with four games to play before facing Peru State, the Broncos are 11-10 on the season.
